The International Center has developed an extraordinary repertoire of print and electronic resources to support school improvement. Some of this country’s leading education practitioners developed these resources. These resources are designed to support education leaders in school reform efforts and professional development strategies, as well as equip teachers with effective strategies and successful practices. The International Center is committed to school improvement in order to prepare today’s students with the skills and knowledge they will need to be successful in tomorrow’s world. The Rigor and Relevance series contains seven kits, eight lesson packs, and three handbooks. These resources focus on applying the concepts of rigor, relevance, and relationships accross all grade levels.
The Curriculum Matrix series contains six kits focused on correlating your state's standards with your state's assessments and the National Essential Skills Study data.
The Culture to Support Academics series contains four kits. These kits can be used to increase student engagement, enhance personal skill development and build character education.
The Brain-Based Teaching and Learning series contains two professional development resource kits, two related teacher handbooks, a book and a DVD. These resources relate brain research to learning and everyday life.
The Literacy – Grades 7-12 series focuses on teaching literacy in middle grades and high schools by incorporating reading and writing strategies accross the curriculum.
The Leadership series focuses on the skills, attributes, and attitudes needed to lead change and successful school improvement initiatives.
The High School Resources series provides great insight into how high schools can help all students complete a rigorous and relevant curriculum. Thesee resources focus on the transition into and completion of high school.
The Closing the Achievement Gap series provides best practices and strategies for improving academic achievement within student populations such as: at-risk students; students with disabilities; and the hardest to reach students.
DVDs for School Improvement are presentations by International Center keynoters, consultants, and staff. These presentations were recorded at the annual Model Schools Conference.
The Model Schools series provides profiles and case studies of high-performing elementary, middle, and high schools.
