Bodybrain-Compatible Schools
This workshop will introduce the Highly Effective Teaching model (HET), a bodybrain-compatible instructional model grounded in the latest brain research to create effective instructional strategies. Developed by nationally recognized educator Susan Kovalik, the HET model provides a blueprint for putting the Rigor/Relevance Framework™ and the Learning Criteria to Support 21st Century Learners™ into everyday practice. The workshops, which will detail how the principles of HET reflect and apply the latest research on brain physiology, are based on the International Center’s resource kits, How Brain Research Impacts Instruction (in Grades K-6) and (in Grades 7-12). The objectives of the workshops include identifying the interconnections among the neuropsychology and biology of learning, supportive instructional strategies, and a conceptual curriculum, all based on rigor, relevance, and relationships.
Objectives
- Understand the interconnections among the biology and neurophysiology of learning, learner engagement, supportive instruction and conceptual curriculum
